Description

  • Develop credit and fraud strategies to improve credit performance and optimize risk decisions using data, machine learning models, and advanced analytics.
  • Bring innovative thinking to recommendations and problem-solving approaches.
  • Design A/B tests and evaluate the trade-offs between risk performance and customer experience.
  • Test new data sources, analytics approaches, and models to continuously improve risk strategies.
  • Partner with Data Science, Product, Engineering, and other teams to implement credit and fraud prevention strategies.
  • Test and validate performance before and after strategy changes.
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis related to risk management, product, and operations.
  • Analyze portfolio performance at a granular segment level on an ongoing basis.
  • Identify trends and perform root-cause analysis to determine key performance drivers.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to Risk Management and broader stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or Economics.
  • 3+ years of experience with a Master’s degree or 5+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree in credit risk, fraud, or data science in the consumer lending industry.
  • Consumer personal loan or credit card experience is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
  • Experience with DBT and Looker is a plus.
  • Knowledge and experience with segmentation, statistical procedures, and financial analytic tools.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical topics clearly and succinctly to team members and senior management.
  • Technology background and analytical skills may be considered in place of financial services experience.
  • Self-starter with comfort operating in ambiguity.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines without sacrificing quality.
