Description

  • Partner with Product to drive execution across all initiatives and ensure on-time delivery, quality, and consistency.
  • Manage, coach, and grow engineers directly through regular 1:1s, feedback, and career conversations.
  • Staff initiatives with the right technical lead and develop the tech lead bench over time.
  • Surface and resolve cross-initiative risks such as staffing gaps, priority collisions, and delivery delays.
  • Contribute to hiring by helping source, close, and onboard new engineers.
  • Provide technical input on architecture reviews, tech-debt analysis, and scaling challenges when needed.
  • Own the full scope of engineering execution, including process, feature delivery, and quality.
  • Maintain a highly engaged, high-performing engineering team.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated progression from technical contributor to engineering leader.
  • Experience managing multiple teams of engineers in a fully remote environment.
  • Comfort serving as the senior-most engineering leader or sole engineering manager.
  • Significant technical experience in at least one area of the stack and the ability to speak credibly in architecture and scoping discussions.
  • Proven partnership with Product on scope, estimation, and delivery commitments.
  • Excellent written communication and experience managing remote teams.
  • Experience at a scaling SaaS startup in varying roles.
  • Strong accountability, bias to action, and desire to empower individuals and win as a team.
  • Bonus: experience with AI-enabled software development.
  • Bonus: experience with developer-facing products or high-scale SaaS platforms.
