Description

  • Build and maintain production-quality backend game services.
  • Directly manage and lead several engineers with support, technical mentorship, constructive feedback, and career development coaching.
  • Collaborate daily with a cross-disciplinary team to design and build services-driven game features, including sessions, matchmaking, and progression.
  • Write clear, concise, and accurate technical documentation and email communications to align multiple teams.
  • Handle production incidents calmly and participate in an on-call rotation after launch.
  • Gather requirements and translate them into implementation and scalable service designs.
  • Work across disciplines to turn a creative game concept into a production-ready live service.

Requirements

  • Production experience designing and building backend game services.
  • Experience leading engineers through direct management, mentoring, or guidance.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical customers or stakeholders.
  • Ability to diagnose complex system failures using logging and metrics.
  • Ability to write, debug, and maintain code in Rust, C++, or C#.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with a team-oriented mindset.
  • Experience with games as a service online game development (preferred).
  • Working knowledge of Docker, Git, and Linux, including shell scripting and system configuration (preferred).

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $217,000 to $325,000 USD for Seattle, with pay varying by geographic location and hybrid policy.
