Description

  • Own delivery and engineering outcomes across two DataTech teams, including velocity, quality, reliability, and scalability.
  • Improve planning, execution, predictability, visualization, and reporting against DataTech priorities.
  • Ensure effective SDLC execution across refinement, design, estimation, implementation, testing, and deployment.
  • Plan team capacity and capabilities, allocate resources, and mitigate delivery risks.
  • Oversee platform quality, performance, observability, customer support, and incident management.
  • Coach, develop, and manage engineers and SDE Leads through feedback, growth, and performance processes.
  • Build and evolve teams through hiring, onboarding, and skill-mix planning.
  • Improve engineering practices, including AI-enabled SDLC, SDD frameworks, and GenAI adoption.
  • Partner with Product, Data, Architecture, Platform, SRE, and other teams on planning and dependencies.

Requirements

  • Proven engineering leadership experience managing multiple software or data engineering teams.
  • Strong hands-on software development experience, primarily with the Java stack.
  • Demonstrated success improving planning, prioritization, execution, and delivery outcomes.
  • Ability to use delivery data, visualization, and reporting to identify problems and drive improvements.
  • Strong people-management skills, including coaching, performance management, and team development.
  • Strong technical judgment and experience improving delivery practices with engineering leads, GenAI, and SDD.
  • Clear communication and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Experience with Java 21, Spring Boot, Kubernetes/GitOps, OpenAPI, PostgreSQL, Kafka, Redis, or MFE architecture.
  • Experience in data ingestion, processing, or curation; Team Topologies; enabling teams; observability; reliability; or incident management is preferred.
