Description

  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing hospitals, labs, customers, physicians, lab staff, lab supervisors, and purchasing personnel.
  • Prospect new customers and convert prospective users into Penumbra customers.
  • Secure new and renewal orders by coordinating product availability, delivery dates, and inventory levels.
  • Maintain regular communication with current and prospective customers regarding programs, promotions, and pricing trends.
  • Increase account penetration across new and existing products and services.
  • Work with the Vice President of Sales and Regional Sales Manager to support customer service and product use and meet quarterly and annual sales plans.
  • Keep current on Penumbra products and provide customer feedback to the corporate office on market receptivity and issues.
  • Monitor competitive product innovations, sales promotions, catalogs, and advertising for market intelligence.
  • Attend industry trade shows and complete follow-up activities, including reports, lead management, and customer correspondence.
  • Maintain accurate sales expense records, customer files, and field sales reports and ensure compliance with quality, security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, neuroscience, biology, or a related discipline.
  • Additional training and certification in radiology, neuro-interventional technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of sales experience.
  • At least 3+ years of experience in a medical device company.
  • Sales or marketing background is desired.
  • Strong clinical, technical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a busy, demanding, and competitive environment.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must reside within the assigned region while in the role; relocation expenses are not provided.
  • Travel at least 50% of the time and be available on-call 24/7.
  • Ability to wear 7–9 pounds of lead for extended periods in the angio suite.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds and work around potential exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
