Description

  • Act as the first point of contact for managers on people matters, including performance, absence, disciplinary, and grievance issues.
  • Coach and advise managers through difficult situations and help build their capability over time.
  • Identify and diagnose people issues early within teams and manager behavior.
  • Coordinate complex employee relations cases with external employment law advisors and keep senior stakeholders informed.
  • Monitor employment law changes across operating regions and flag implications for policy, process, and manager practice.
  • Own HiBob administration, including accurate records, contract changes, onboarding, offboarding, and holiday documentation.
  • Coordinate day-to-day payroll changes with the finance team.
  • Support salary benchmarking cycles and benefits provider renewals.
  • Maintain health and safety compliance for the London office and keep people records audit-ready.
  • Embed AI tools and automation into People processes and help establish people foundations for a new internal startup team.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a generalist People/HR role, ideally in a small or scaling tech business.
  • Experience partnering closely with managers across a range of people situations.
  • Experience handling a wide range of employee relations cases and working with external advisors.
  • Strong operational ownership of systems and processes with a high attention to detail.
  • Compliance awareness, including keeping records clean and staying current on employment law changes across supported regions.
  • Experience working in lean, high-growth environments where people do a bit of everything.
  • Comfort working with external employment law advisors, internal stakeholders, operational leadership, and EOR providers.
  • Curiosity about AI and automation, with willingness to test and improve processes.
  • Adaptability in fast-changing, less-defined environments.
  • High EQ, discretion, and good judgment when handling sensitive matters.
