Description

  • Build and operate real-time and batch data collection pipelines for robot sensor data and operational logs.
  • Design and manage multimodal training datasets for VLA models and SLAM systems, including preprocessing, quality control, and versioning.
  • Develop the end-to-end ELA (Embodied Learning from Action) pipeline for robot learning from real-world action data.
  • Architect and operate cloud data warehouses and related data infrastructure.
  • Build dashboards and operational reporting for robot fleet monitoring and field operations.
  • Partner with AI, Robotics, and Field Deployment teams to improve data collection and experiment tracking workflows.
  • Automate data quality monitoring, validation, and alerting.
  • Support telemetry, experiment management, and embedded AI data platform operations.
  • Build and maintain real-time streaming infrastructure for live robot telemetry.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of data engineering experience in a professional setting, or 3+ years building data infrastructure for Robotics, Embodied AI, or machine learning.
  • Experience building and operating robotics data collection infrastructure or robot learning workflows.
  • Experience handling multimodal sensor data such as camera, LiDAR, and IMU data.
  • Strong Python development experience; strong Python and/or SQL skills for large-scale data processing.
  • Knowledge of robotics technologies such as VLA, Robot Learning, and SLAM.
  • Experience building and operating cloud data infrastructure on GCP, AWS, or Azure.
  • Experience designing and implementing ETL/ELT pipelines with Airflow, dbt, Spark, or similar tools.
  • Experience with data warehouse design.
  • Experience processing robotics, autonomous systems, or sensor data (preferred).
  • Experience with MLOps tools such as MLflow, Kubeflow, or Weights & Biases (preferred).
  • Experience with real-time streaming tools such as Kafka or Pub/Sub (preferred).
  • Familiarity with multithreading and data-sharing patterns such as circular buffers, channels, and locks (preferred).
  • ROS/ROS2 experience (preferred).
  • Experience with robotics data formats such as LeRobot, MCAP, or RLDS (preferred).
  • Teleoperation or robot data collection operations experience (preferred).
  • Japanese is not required; English-only candidates are welcome.
