Description

  • Partner with enterprise account executives as the technical and domain expert on customer-facing sales engagements.
  • Build and deliver sales presentations and customized product demonstrations to address customer needs.
  • Understand customer challenges and business issues and align Okta solutions accordingly.
  • Answer product feature and technical questions from customers, partners, and internal colleagues.
  • Plan and deliver proof-of-concepts for complex use cases, collaborating with other engineering teams as needed.
  • Provide feedback to product management on enhancements that would better meet customer needs.
  • Share best practices and reusable assets with other Solutions Engineers to improve team quality and efficiency.
  • Stay current on competitive analysis and market differentiation.
  • Support marketing events such as executive briefings, conferences, user groups, and trade shows.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of pre-sales engineering experience selling SaaS products.
  • Experience in a customer-facing role such as consulting or support, preferably in pre-sales.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical ideas clearly and quickly, including on the fly and using a whiteboard.
  • Experience with at least one standard network security protocol such as OAuth, OAuth2, SAML, or LDAP.
  • Hands-on experience in web, mobile, backend development, or IP-based real-time communications.
  • Understanding of core application security concerns such as password hashing, SSL/TLS, encryption at rest, XSS, and XSRF.
  • Exceptional communication skills and confidence presenting to highly skilled, experienced audiences.
  • Typically 25% travel required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, or a comparable field preferred.
  • Experience with Agentic AI, LLM-based workflows, and MCP servers preferred.
  • Diagramming experience for user journey flows and complex architecture diagrams preferred.
  • Experience in the IAM space preferred.
