Description

  • Partner with the Corporate/New Business sales team as the technical and domain expert for customer engagements.
  • Understand customer challenges and business issues, especially for development and product teams, and align solutions to their needs.
  • Deliver product demonstrations and answer technical questions from customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Plan and present proofs of concept for complex use cases, including scripting and coding to demonstrate Auth0 capabilities.
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams as needed to support customer solutions.
  • Provide feedback to product management on enhancements that could better address customer needs.
  • Share best practices and reusable assets with other Solutions Engineers to improve team quality and efficiency.
  • Stay current on competitive analysis and market differentiation.
  • Support marketing events such as executive briefings, conferences, user groups, and trade shows.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and help lead the team on specific product solutions or competitive knowledge.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of pre-sales engineering experience.
  • Customer-facing experience in consulting, support, or ideally pre-sales.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and quickly, including on a whiteboard.
  • Experience deploying applications on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or Vercel.
  • Experience with at least one network security protocol such as OAuth, OAuth2, SAML, or LDAP.
  • Experience working with REST APIs, API gateways, and SDKs.
  • Hands-on development experience in one or more areas: web development, mobile development, backend development, or IP-based real-time communications.
  • Software development background with the ability to communicate effectively with developers, architects, and DevOps engineers.
  • Understanding of core application security concerns such as password hashing, SSL/TLS, encryption at rest, XSS, and XSRF.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills for technical audiences and large expert groups.
  • Territory management skills, including pipeline building and working with sales counterparts.
  • Typically 25% travel.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, or a comparable field preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with Generative AI or LLM technologies such as LangChain, GenKit, or LlamaIndex preferred.
  • Experience integrating with microservices, data lakes, or customer data platforms preferred.
  • Experience developing ReBAC or fine-grain authorization models preferred.
  • Diagramming experience for user journey flows and complex architecture diagrams preferred.
  • Experience as a trusted advisor in a sales region preferred.
  • Experience leading strategic technical sales plays or new account acquisitions preferred.
  • Experience creating reusable artifacts for presales or sales communities preferred.
  • Publication of external thought leadership documentation annually preferred.
  • Technical leadership and mentoring experience preferred.

Benefits

  • OTE range of $224,000-$308,000 USD for candidates in the San Francisco Bay Area.
  • OTE range of $200,000-$275,000 USD for candidates in California outside the Bay Area, Colorado, Illinois, New York, and Washington.
