Description

  • Lead and scale the software engineering organization, owning delivery, quality, security, reliability, and operational outcomes.
  • Define the engineering operating model, including intake, prioritization, delivery cadence, metrics, and reporting.
  • Own Nooks’ AI strategy, adoption, governance, and institutional knowledge systems.
  • Deliver awarded government software contracts, managing scope, schedules, staffing, costs, utilization, and customer confidence.
  • Represent engineering and AI capabilities to government customers and support federal software pursuits and proposals.
  • Set technology strategy and architecture roadmaps across customer-facing, internal, and deployable systems.
  • Own the platform used by site teams, Operations, and internal functions to manage spaces, members, and contracts.
  • Lead build-versus-buy decisions, vendor relationships, and the business case for engineering investment.
  • Partner with the CEO, Growth, Operations, IT/Cyber, Product, Finance, customers, and technology vendors.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience with progressive leadership responsibility and ownership of a full engineering or software product function.
  • Experience delivering software to the U.S. government and working directly with federal customers.
  • Command of modern AI practices, including LLMs, agentic frameworks, RAG, orchestration, and AI governance.
  • Experience managing delivery economics, including cost, staffing, utilization, and fixed-commitment work.
  • Experience building and leading engineering organizations, including hiring and outcome-based delivery models.
  • Experience managing executive-level customer and cross-functional relationships.
  • Experience in defense, national security, or another regulated environment with clearance, compliance, or controlled-data constraints preferred.
  • Federal software capture experience, including technical approach and cost inputs, preferred.
  • Experience delivering software for field-based or operational users preferred.
  • U.S. work authorization and eligibility and commitment to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance required; active clearance preferred.

Benefits

  • Salary range of $230,000–$275,000 USD.
