Description

  • Build and maintain customer and vendor relationships within assigned U.S. Coast Guard agencies and districts.
  • Develop and implement sales and geographic strategies in coordination with the Senior Director of U.S. Coast Guard Sales and Business Development.
  • Meet with customers regularly in person and through other communication channels to understand needs and support procurement requests.
  • Create quotes, price estimates, product specifications, order entries, and product demonstrations for customers.
  • Manage the sales pipeline, including quotes, orders, and weekly reporting on opportunities.
  • Develop requirements with customers for future bids and contract quotations for equipment and services.
  • Travel to client locations and attend symposiums, conferences, trade shows, exhibitions, and vendor ride-alongs to generate sales opportunities.
  • Gather and communicate market, customer, and competitive intelligence to the company.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, customers, vendors, and partners on product development and sales support.
  • Perform administrative and account-management duties, including reports, sales records, expense reports, and calendar upkeep.

Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a Sales Representative.
  • Strong understanding of government sales and federal contracting.
  • Experience working with the Department of Defense, military, federal agencies, U.S. Coast Guard, and/or law enforcement.
  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years of sales experience, or 5 years of industry experience in place of a degree.
  • Ability to meet deadlines with little supervision.
  • Ability to carry out skillful negotiations.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license is required.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance, if required.
  • Microsoft Office Suite, Google Office Suite, and Salesforce proficiency.
  • NetSuite or familiarity with an ERP system is a plus.
  • Proficient internet searching skills.
