Description

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to achieve revenue targets and expand the company’s footprint within the DOD community.
  • Identify, qualify, and manage new business opportunities, contract bids, and sales pipeline activity.
  • Build and maintain relationships with government, military, customer, vendor, and subcontractor stakeholders.
  • Develop requirements with customers for future bids and contract quotations for equipment and services.
  • Lead the development of compliant proposals in close collaboration with internal teams.
  • Travel to customer sites, conferences, symposiums, tradeshows, exhibitions, and military engagements to cultivate opportunities and gather market intelligence.
  • Prepare price quotations, establish contract terms, and accurately process quotes and orders.
  • Provide weekly sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and required management reports.
  • Conduct market research and communicate competitive intelligence, opportunities, and threats to the company.
  • Support administrative sales activities including records management, expense reporting, and calendar coordination.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or a related technical field.
  • Master’s degree is highly desirable.
  • 5-10 years of experience in defense sales and business development.
  • Proven track record of winning DOD contracts.
  • Demonstrated understanding of government sales and federal contracting.
  • Experience with DOD procurement and contracting processes.
  • Ability to build relationships with and influence senior business and government leaders.
  • Strong communication and skillful negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and take care of customer needs while following company procedures.
  • Ability to obtain security clearance if required.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Previous military experience is highly desired.
  • Experience with Google Workspace, Oracle ERP, Epicor, Salesforce, Slack, Concur, and ADP.
  • Knowledge of contracting vehicles such as GSA, ECAT, EMALL, and Prime Vendor schedules.
