Description

  • Own the international expansion roadmap for Merchant Central, starting with Canada and extending to the UK/EU and beyond.
  • Lead end-to-end integration of new strategic processors, including API specifications, boarding flows, processor configurations, local payment methods, and reconciliation.
  • Research and document market requirements for each target geography, including payment methods, regulatory constraints, currency, language, data residency, and compliance frameworks.
  • Write user stories, acceptance criteria, and bug reports to support product delivery.
  • Manage the product backlog by grooming, prioritizing, and sequencing work across dependencies.
  • Participate in sprint ceremonies and maintain delivery visibility for the roadmap.
  • Define go-to-market plans for each launch, including positioning, partner messaging, launch readiness, and sales/channel enablement.
  • Partner with Product Marketing to create external-facing content and market-specific messaging.
  • Build competitive intelligence for target markets and identify NMI’s differentiated positioning.
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, and Finance on licensing, privacy, tax, and other operational requirements.
  • Define success metrics for each market launch and track adoption, volume, completion rates, and utilization by geography.
  • Use AI tools for market research, requirement synthesis, competitive analysis, and documentation drafting.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product management experience, including at least 3 years in payments, fintech, or B2B SaaS.
  • Demonstrated experience launching a product into a new market or geography.
  • Hands-on product owner experience with user stories, acceptance criteria, Jira backlogs, and close engineering collaboration.
  • Strong understanding of payment localization, including local payment methods, processor integrations, currency handling, regulatory compliance, and market-specific operations.
  • Experience supporting or leading go-to-market efforts for a new market launch.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and building a roadmap without a finished blueprint.
  • Data-driven approach with defined success metrics and performance evaluation.
  • Excellent written communication skills for clear requirements and stakeholder updates.
  • Fluency with AI tools for product work, including research, drafting, synthesis, and analysis.
  • Preferred experience with the Canadian payments ecosystem, such as Interac, Chase Paymentech Canada, or Moneris.
  • Preferred familiarity with Canadian regulatory requirements, including PIPEDA, provincial privacy laws, French-language obligations in Quebec, and FINTRAC.
  • Preferred experience with UK/EU payment regulation, including PSD2, GDPR, FCA authorization frameworks, or SEPA.
  • Preferred experience working with product marketing, launch messaging, competitive battlecards, or partner enablement materials.
  • Preferred experience with SaaS CRM, merchant lifecycle, or partner-facing management platforms.
  • Preferred familiarity with Jira and agile delivery in a cross-functional product engineering environment.
