Description

  • Lead the design and execution of end-to-end features, from React-based interfaces to scalable Java/Python microservices.
  • Drive the integration of LLMs and AI agents into the New Relic ecosystem, including building and maintaining MCP servers.
  • Build and maintain highly available, multi-threaded backend services that handle massive data throughput and concurrency.
  • Lead system architecture discussions and conduct deep-dive code reviews to uphold engineering standards.
  • Partner with Product and Design to turn complex data visualizations into intuitive, performant user experiences.
  • Mentor junior and senior engineers through complex technical challenges.
  • Build, extend, and support core data services used by New Relic agents and analytics products.
  • Contribute to distributed team efforts solving challenging engineering problems at scale.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional software development experience, with proven Lead or Staff-level impact.
  • Deep expertise in React, preferred, or Angular, with strong focus on state management, performance optimization, and data visualization.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Java or Python, including multi-threading, concurrency patterns, and asynchronous programming.
  • Extensive experience designing and scaling distributed systems that operate under high load.
  • Experience with LLM APIs, prompt engineering, or building MCP servers for AI-driven workflows.
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects and mentoring mid-to-senior engineers.
  • Experience with front-end technologies including HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Angular, and React.
  • Experience with Go or other high-concurrency languages.
  • Knowledge of big data technologies such as Kafka, ClickHouse, or Spark.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and modern CI/CD pipelines.
