Description

  • Write performant, maintainable, well-documented code for web applications.
  • Write automated tests to validate code correctness.
  • Deploy and support large-scale web applications through the full software lifecycle.
  • Own code end-to-end from development through deployment, operations, and on-call support.
  • Iterate on product quality, accessibility, and performance improvements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product management, and design teams.
  • Work independently and contribute effectively in a fast-moving team environment.
  • Help integrate AI into product experiences and development workflows.

Requirements

  • Experience with JavaScript and TypeScript.
  • Experience with a core object-oriented programming language such as Java, C++, or C#.
  • Familiarity with backend services and technologies is a plus.
  • Experience with deployment systems such as GitHub Actions or AWS CodeDeploy.
  • Familiarity with AWS services such as RDS, Lambda, and EC2.
  • Familiarity with Linux and command-line tools.
  • Understanding of object-oriented design, algorithms, and data structures.
  • Ability to quickly learn new languages and technologies.
  • Experience developing websites visited by thousands of visitors daily.
  • Experience with SEO performance improvements.
  • Experience with AI-native productivity tools such as Cursor, Make, Supabase, Netlify, Claude Code, n8n, Firecrawl, ChatGPT, Grok, Bolt, or Vercel.
  • Computer Science or related degree preferred.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Understanding and acceptance of Nerdy as an apolitical company.
