Description

  • Design, build, train, evaluate, and deploy machine learning and generative AI solutions.
  • Develop and maintain predictive analytics, NLP, computer vision, and LLM-based applications.
  • Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), agentic workflows, and knowledge management solutions.
  • Evaluate commercial, open-source, and custom AI models for mission-specific use cases.
  • Deploy and operate local and open-source models in secure, restricted, or air-gapped environments.
  • Configure GPU-based inference environments and manage model serving platforms and inference frameworks.
  • Design and deploy AI solutions within Azure Government using Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Azure Machine Learning, AKS, and related services.
  • Develop data pipelines and perform data exploration, feature engineering, model evaluation, and performance analysis.
  • Implement CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, drift detection, and secure MLOps/DevSecOps processes.
  • Collaborate with mission owners, analysts, engineers, cybersecurity personnel, and leadership, and produce technical documentation and presentations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, AI engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience deploying and operating production AI/ML systems.
  • Experience supporting secure government, defense, or regulated environments preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of supervised and unsupervised learning techniques.
  • Proficiency in Python and common ML frameworks.
  • Experience deploying and operating open-source LLMs, including Llama, Mistral, or Hugging Face models.
  • Knowledge of RAG architectures, agent frameworks, prompt engineering, model evaluation methodologies, and fine-tuning approaches.
  • Experience with Azure AI Foundry, Azure Machine Learning, Azure OpenAI, AKS, Azure Storage and Data Services, and Azure Identity and Access Management.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, GPU-based inference systems, vLLM, Ollama, TGI, or similar platforms, and Linux administration.
  • Experience with SQL, relational databases, data warehousing, ETL/ELT pipelines, vector databases, and semantic search platforms.
  • Experience with Git-based workflows, REST APIs, microservices, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts.
  • Active security clearance or ability to obtain one preferred.
  • Experience with NIST AI Risk Management Framework, FedRAMP, RMF, classified environments, Azure certifications, distributed GPU environments, or AI governance controls preferred.
  • U.S. citizenship required and ability to pass a government background investigation and comply with applicable security requirements.
