Description

  • Own the Snowflake warehouse and dbt project, including approximately 300 models, 1,700 tests, model contracts, and semantic definitions.
  • Maintain data models supporting commissions, cancellations, bookings, and marketing attribution.
  • Own daily ingestion from approximately 25 sources using dlt and Dagster, including schedules, sensors, assets, and freshness checks.
  • Run AWS infrastructure defined in CDK, including Step Functions, Lambda, S3, Athena, and Iceberg.
  • Lead Datadog observability through infrastructure-as-code dashboards, monitors, cost visibility, and proactive alerting.
  • Troubleshoot pipeline and infrastructure failures and implement improvements to prevent recurrence.
  • Use AI tools in daily engineering work and help shape the team’s AI-first operating practices.
  • Maintain consistent event schemas, identifiers, and campaign parameters for clickstream, attribution, funnel, and experiment analysis.

Requirements

  • Strong SQL and production experience with a cloud data warehouse; Snowflake preferred, with BigQuery or Redshift also suitable.
  • Solid dbt experience with incremental models, tests, macros, and scalable project structure.
  • Hands-on Segment experience and expertise in web tracking instrumentation and event-schema management.
  • Confident Python experience writing ingestion, orchestration, and service code.
  • Experience with Dagster, Airflow, Prefect, or a similar orchestrator, including retries, backfills, and freshness management.
  • Experience deploying and debugging infrastructure using AWS with CDK or Terraform.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and multitask effectively in a remote, fast-moving environment.
  • Comfort working natively with AI tools and evaluating their outputs; MCP experience is a plus.
  • Experience with dlt, marketing or CRM API ingestion, Hex, TypeScript, or e-commerce, travel, marketplace, or subscription businesses is preferred.
