Description

  • Lead, coach, and develop software engineers through one-on-ones, performance feedback, mentorship, and career development.
  • Guide modernization of ClearTrack and MTSS Edge while maintaining stability for existing customers.
  • Contribute to software architecture, design, development, code reviews, production support, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Document and expand application architecture, business rules, and product knowledge to reduce silos and improve maintainability.
  • Improve engineering practices across CI/CD, testing, release processes, automation, observability, and secure development.
  • Drive architectural decisions for APIs, web applications, data access, cloud technologies, and infrastructure modernization.
  • Partner with Product, UX, QA, Support, CloudOps, and engineering teams to prioritize work and manage dependencies.
  • Lead technical response efforts for production issues and customer-impacting incidents.
  • Champion AI-assisted development practices across planning, coding, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, including technical leadership and people management responsibilities.
  • Proven experience coaching engineers, leading teams, and delivering business-critical software applications.
  • Strong background in software architecture, legacy application modernization, and enterprise application development.
  • Experience developing RESTful APIs, web applications, relational databases, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Experience improving CI/CD pipelines, source control, deployment automation, and release management using tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab, Gradle, Ant, or similar.
  • Experience with cloud-hosted applications, containerization, monitoring, observability, and production support.
  • Strong understanding of secure software development practices, OAuth 2.0, authentication, authorization, API security, and data protection.
  • Ability to learn and support Progress OpenEdge ABL; prior Progress OpenEdge experience is strongly preferred but not required.
  • Experience collaborating with Product, UX, QA, Support, CloudOps, and business stakeholders in an Agile environment.
  • Experience adopting or leading AI-assisted software development workflows is strongly preferred.
