Description

  • Support application migration projects from on-premises environments to AWS.
  • Support database migration projects to AWS, including RDBMS, NoSQL, data warehousing, and Hadoop workloads.
  • Automate operational and server provisioning workflows using AWS CloudFormation and related tooling.
  • Share responsibility for deploying releases and performing operational maintenance.
  • Enhance and maintain Jenkins clusters, Bitbucket, monitoring tools, and metrics platforms such as Consul, Graphite, and Grafana.
  • Provide operational support to the Engineering team and help migrate dedicated hardware infrastructure to the cloud.
  • Establish and maintain operational best practices for cloud and DevOps processes.
  • Participate in hiring and help engineers with career path guidance.
  • Collaborate with founders on team strategy and organizational direction.
  • Implement monitoring and automated system health checks to improve reliability.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience using Terraform for infrastructure as code.
  • 2+ years of configuration management and engineering experience for large-scale customers, ideally in an Agile development environment.
  • 2+ years of Linux administration experience.
  • Strong understanding of version control systems such as Git, including branching and merging strategies.
  • Experience with AWS services such as EC2, ECS, RDS, CloudFormation, and CloudWatch.
  • Experience with cloud automation tools such as Ansible and Chef.
  • Experience with software build tools such as Maven and Gradle.
  • Experience with continuous integration tools such as Jenkins.
  • Must have supported Java-based applications in a production environment.
  • Experience with Linux scripting languages such as Bash, Python, and Groovy.
  • Experience supporting Node.js in production is a plus.
  • Knowledge of service discovery tools such as Consul is a plus.
  • Comfortable working late evening hours, since most patching occurs then.
  • AWS DevOps Pro or AWS Solutions Architect Pro certification is preferred.
