Description

  • Lead weekly 1:1s, performance management, career development, and technical growth for machine learning engineers.
  • Own quarterly planning for AI/ML workstreams and align priorities with broader business objectives.
  • Build an inclusive, high-performance engineering culture through mentorship, knowledge sharing, and technical standards.
  • Partner with Product Management and Data Science to translate clinical requirements into safe, robust production models.
  • Oversee the ML software development lifecycle through design reviews and production deployment.
  • Guide the evolution of research prototypes into stable Kubernetes-based microservices.
  • Provide architectural guidance and develop prototypes to expand the team’s technical impact.

Requirements

  • Experience managing and scaling high-performing ML/AI engineering teams in production environments.
  • Strong people leadership skills, including talent development, performance management, and team culture building.
  • Experience balancing long-term technical strategy and model governance with day-to-day leadership.
  • Deep expertise in machine learning systems, including transformers, neural networks, and fine-tuning.
  • Mastery of the ML software development lifecycle, including dataset lineage, automated evaluation, and large-scale microservice deployment.
  • Experience architecting cloud-native solutions on AWS or equivalent cloud providers.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to turn ambiguous technical problems into strategic priorities.
  • Experience writing high-performance production code in Java or Kotlin (preferred).
  • Experience building AI/ML systems in regulated environments involving HIPAA, SOC 2, PHI, or PII (preferred).
  • Experience building internal developer platforms or ML tooling for data scientists and engineers (preferred).
