Description

  • Manage, mentor, hire, onboard, and develop a team of server engineers.
  • Provide technical leadership across architecture, system design, and key engineering decisions.
  • Contribute hands-on to the codebase, with approximately 50% of the role focused on engineering.
  • Partner with product, design, and data teams to define, scope, and deliver features from concept through launch.
  • Oversee scalable, secure, and efficient cloud-based services.
  • Maintain high standards for code quality, testing, operational readiness, observability, and long-term maintainability.
  • Own project execution and deliver business-impacting member experience and payment capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • 2+ years of experience managing high-performing engineering teams.
  • Deep knowledge of Node.js and TypeScript.
  • Familiarity with cloud architectures, services, deployment models, and distributed systems.
  • Experience with MongoDB and PostgreSQL.
  • Production experience with Apple StoreKit and Stripe payments and subscriptions for a B2C product.
  • Experience with operational excellence programs, including production readiness, observability, and on-call operations.
  • Proven ability to lead projects from concept through launch while balancing speed and quality.
  • Experience sourcing, hiring, mentoring, and developing engineers, with strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Curiosity about applying emerging AI technologies to developer and product experiences.
