Description

  • Lead the design and hands-on implementation of robust, scalable, and maintainable system architectures tailored to client needs.
  • Design, develop, and integrate APIs and related specifications to ensure reliable communication between systems.
  • Guide and mentor engineering teams, conduct code reviews, and establish technical standards and best practices.
  • Design, set up, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and manage deployment and release processes for reliable production releases.
  • Engage directly with clients to understand business goals, present technical solutions, manage expectations, and adjust strategies based on feedback.
  • Run technical spikes to explore new technologies and approaches, evaluate trade-offs, and inform architecture decisions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize project disruption and ensure delivery milestones are met.
  • Adapt to diverse project roles—ranging from API design and live team support to full-time DevOps responsibilities—based on client needs.

Requirements

  • 7–10+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in consulting or in-house cross-functional product teams.
  • Experience building consumer-facing native mobile and web applications with fluency in native languages and core frameworks.
  • Proven experience architecting, building, maintaining, and scaling modern software across multiple platforms.
  • Experience designing APIs and writing API specifications.
  • Ability to design, set up, and maintain DevOps and CI/CD pipelines and manage complex deployments.
  • Scripting proficiency (examples: Unix shell, Ruby, Perl, etc.).
  • Understanding of computer networking (VPNs, SSH, Wi‑Fi) and experience setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting networks.
  • Strong security awareness with the ability to identify potential risks and design around them.
  • Excellent communication skills, including presenting and defending technical and architectural choices and interacting directly with clients.
  • Portfolio or work samples demonstrating performant, well-organized code and clean user interfaces; comfort with occasional travel to the MN HQ.
