Description

  • Lead the design of robust architectures tailored to client needs and implement solutions hands-on with attention to scalability and maintainability.
  • Design, develop, and integrate APIs to enable seamless communication between systems.
  • Guide and mentor engineering teams, conduct code reviews, and help establish technical standards.
  • Participate in technical spikes to evaluate new technologies and approaches.
  • Work directly with clients to understand business goals, present technical solutions, and adapt plans based on feedback.
  • Design, set up, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and manage deployment processes for reliable releases.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly to minimize disruption to timelines.
  • Adapt across a range of project types, including API design, live team support, and full-time DevOps work.

Requirements

  • 7-10 years of software engineering experience, preferably in a consulting environment or on an in-house cross-functional product team.
  • Experience building consumer-facing native mobile and web applications.
  • Fluent command of native languages and core frameworks used for mobile and web development.
  • Demonstrated expertise architecting, building, maintaining, and scaling modern software on various platforms.
  • Experience designing and maintaining DevOps and CI/CD pipelines and managing complex deployments.
  • Scripting experience with Unix shell, Ruby, Perl, or similar tools.
  • Experience designing APIs and writing API specifications.
  • Understanding of computer networking concepts such as VPNs, SSH, and Wi-Fi, plus experience setting up and troubleshooting networks.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate technical requirements, present and defend architectural choices, and explain advanced concepts to clients.
  • Preferred qualifications include strong technical diagramming skills, public speaking or writing about technical topics, released personal apps or products, and interest in emerging languages/platforms such as Go, Rust, Alexa, or Unity.
