Description

  • Own the payments and checkout product area end to end, with direct responsibility for conversion and business outcomes.
  • Analyze checkout funnel performance, identify friction and drop-off points, and prioritize improvements that increase conversion.
  • Collaborate with engineering, QA, UX, and business stakeholders to define, deliver, and validate product changes.
  • Write user stories, define acceptance criteria and done conditions, and manage the backlog in Scrum or Kanban workflows.
  • Monitor payment metrics such as rejection rates, authorization rates, chargebacks, and processing times to inform product decisions.
  • Design and run A/B tests in the checkout flow and scale winning experiments.
  • Translate business and technical constraints into clear product decisions, including compliance, PSP configuration, and user experience tradeoffs.
  • Work hands-on with the purchase flow to validate issues, test changes, and understand failure points firsthand.
  • Support payment method expansion, localization, and market-specific prioritization across countries and payment preferences.
  • Use AI tools to speed up drafting, structuring, summarizing, and evaluating product work.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to explain prioritization, risk, and impact.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager on digital ecommerce products.
  • Direct ownership of checkout flows, payments, conversion, or similar high-impact ecommerce areas.
  • Deep knowledge of the online payments ecosystem, including PSPs such as Worldpay, Stripe, Adyen, Redsys, and Braintree.
  • Understanding of virtual POS terminals, payment pricing models such as interchange++ and blended, and dispute and chargeback management.
  • Experience optimizing checkout funnels through friction reduction, drop-off analysis, UX improvements, payment error handling, and status messaging.
  • Familiarity with frontend and checkout-related technical concepts, including page load performance, form validation, cross-browser compatibility, and JavaScript-heavy payment widgets.
  • Knowledge of emerging payment methods such as BNPL, digital wallets, open banking, and instant payments.
  • Understanding of payment regulations and compliance, including PSD2, SCA, 3DS2, and GDPR as applied to payment flows.
  • Real experience working with Scrum or Kanban, backlog management, user stories, sprint management, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to interpret dashboards and payment metrics such as conversion, rejection rates, processing time, and chargeback ratios.
  • Ability to design and evaluate A/B tests in checkout environments using clear hypotheses and success metrics.
  • Fluent Spanish and English, both written and spoken.
  • Experience with PSP technical integrations at the API level, including webhooks, payment events, transaction state handling, and retries, is a plus.
  • Familiarity with analytics tools such as Amplitude, Datadog, Mixpanel, and GA4 for payment funnel analysis is a plus.
  • Experience with CMP and consent management tools such as Didomi or OneTrust is a plus.
  • Knowledge of BI tools such as Qlik, Looker, Tableau, or Power BI is a plus.
  • Experience expanding international payment methods, including checkout localization, multicurrency support, and new market validation, is a plus.
  • Knowledge of fraud prevention platforms such as Ravelin, Ethoca, Kount, Forter, or Signifyd is a plus.
  • Experience with subscription products or recurring billing models, including renewals and dunning, is a plus.
