Description

  • Design, implement, and maintain salary bands and grading structures aligned with market data and company growth stage.
  • Lead annual compensation review cycles, including benchmarking, budget modelling, and calibration.
  • Conduct regular market analyses using compensation surveys to ensure external competitiveness.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to develop competitive offer packages and maintain consistency across the organization.
  • Design and administer short-term and long-term incentive plans, including variable pay and equity programs.
  • Manage and continuously improve the employee benefits portfolio.
  • Lead benefits renewal and vendor negotiations to improve cost-effectiveness and employee satisfaction.
  • Administer flexible remuneration programs in accordance with Spanish tax and social security regulations.
  • Ensure compensation and benefits practices comply with Spanish labor law, collective bargaining agreements, and pay equality regulations.
  • Own the pay equity register and coordinate Equality Plans as required.
  • Build dashboards and reports on compensation metrics, pay equity, headcount costs, and benefits utilization.
  • Provide analytical support for workforce planning, headcount budgeting, and executive reporting.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Compensation & Benefits or Total Rewards, including at least 2 years in a fast-growing scale-up or tech-driven environment.
  • Deep knowledge of Spanish labor law, social security regulations, and tax implications for employee remuneration.
  • Familiarity with the EU Pay Transparency Act and experience preparing for compliance.
  • Hands-on experience with flexible remuneration schemes and the Registro Retributivo.
  • Strong command of compensation benchmarking methodologies and job evaluation frameworks.
  • Advanced analytical skills with proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and comfort using HRIS and compensation tools.
  • Ability to communicate complex topics clearly to non-specialist audiences, including senior stakeholders.
  • Fluent in Spanish and professional-level English.
  • Experience with long-term incentive plans is valued.
  • Familiarity with European multi-country compensation programs is valued.
  • Experience working with HRIS platforms is valued.
  • HR or Compensation certification is a nice to have, such as WorldatWork CCP, SHRM, or HRCI.
