Description

  • Lead and continuously improve the Human Resources function across the full employee lifecycle.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a small HR team.
  • Partner with firm leadership on workforce planning, organizational design, succession planning, and people strategy.
  • Establish HR KPIs, build leadership dashboards, and use workforce data to support decision-making.
  • Evaluate emerging HR technologies, AI tools, and best practices to improve productivity and employee experience.
  • Oversee hiring, onboarding, development, retention, employee relations, compensation reviews, employee transitions, and offboarding.
  • Build scalable HR systems, tools, and workflows to support onboarding, offboarding, performance management, and team communication.
  • Design and improve onboarding programs, learning pathways, training resources, SOPs, assessments, and certification programs.
  • Partner with department leaders on coaching, feedback, performance management, and career development.
  • Serve as the primary HR partner for employee relations, workplace concerns, performance discussions, and conflict resolution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive HR/People Ops experience, including experience as a first or early HR hire in a globally distributed environment.
  • Experience leading an HR function and mentoring or managing others while balancing strategic leadership with hands-on execution.
  • Professional HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, CIPD, or equivalent preferred.
  • Proven experience leading HR in a U.S.-based law firm or other professional services environment.
  • Exceptional technology aptitude and ability to quickly learn, evaluate, implement, and optimize software platforms, digital tools, and AI technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience using AI to improve productivity, automate workflows, streamline recruitment, and create documentation and training materials.
  • Experience developing HR reports, dashboards, and workforce metrics to support leadership decisions.
  • Outstanding written and verbal English communication skills, including the ability to present clearly to senior leadership, managers, and staff.
  • Ability to work remotely with Pacific Time-aligned scheduling and maintain at least 5–6 hours of overlap with PT operating hours.
