Description

  • Concept and design UI and HUD layouts and assets, including menus, icons, buttons, frames, panels, and other interface elements.
  • Develop clear, visually appealing UI solutions for complex design challenges.
  • Ensure the interface is intuitive, readable, consistent, and aligned with the project’s art direction.
  • Maintain a consistent visual aesthetic across UI assets and screens.
  • Work with artists, designers, engineers, and technical artists to produce optimized assets that meet technical requirements and production conventions.
  • Create wireframes, mock-ups, user flows, and visual prototypes with designers to communicate layout and interaction ideas.
  • Support the creation and layout of animated UI elements and, when needed, 3D UI elements.
  • Review existing UI layouts, menus, and assets and propose visual and usability improvements.
  • Articulate design reasoning clearly and respond constructively to feedback.
  • Participate in task planning, estimation, and scheduling with the Lead Artist and Production Team.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a User Interface Artist or in a similar game development role.
  • Experience working on at least one shipped or live game title, ideally mobile.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating UI art skills across menus, HUDs, icons, buttons, visual hierarchy, layout, and polished final UI assets.
  • Good understanding of mobile UI constraints, including readability, screen resolution, aspect ratios, touch interaction, and asset optimization.
  • Strong visual design skills, including composition, color, typography, shape language, iconography, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to create UI assets from wireframes or design briefs through to final production-ready artwork.
  • Practical understanding of how UI assets are implemented in a game engine or real-time development environment.
  • Comfort working collaboratively with designers, engineers, technical artists, and other artists.
  • Ability to iterate quickly based on feedback while maintaining visual quality and consistency.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to explain design decisions clearly.
  • Well organized, proactive, and able to manage assigned tasks within production timelines.
  • Experience with modern game engines such as Unity, Unreal Engine, or proprietary engines is a plus.
  • Experience on console titles is a plus.
  • Experience with UI animation, motion design, or 3D UI elements is a plus.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, After Effects, Spine, or similar UI/art tools is a plus.
