Description

  • Design, build, and own core components of the agent platform, including the orchestration layer and tool integrations.
  • Build and evolve APIs, data access patterns, and service integrations that enable agents to execute operational workflows.
  • Architect the knowledge and memory infrastructure used by agents to retrieve data and operate across systems.
  • Design and implement trust and safety controls such as audit trails, human-in-the-loop workflows, and guardrails.
  • Contribute to agent evaluation and testing infrastructure to measure accuracy, reliability, and regressions.
  • Partner with Operations to understand workflows, identify automation opportunities, and translate process knowledge into agent capabilities.
  • Mentor other engineers as the team grows.
  • Make pragmatic technical decisions and ship production-ready systems in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of backend engineering experience building and operating production systems.
  • Hands-on experience with LLMs and AI agents, including orchestration, RAG, tool/function calling, or similar.
  • Strong API design and system integration skills.
  • Product-minded approach with the ability to question requirements and contribute to product decisions.
  • Proven ownership of complex projects in ambiguous, early-stage environments.
  • Experience building scalable, complex applications.
  • Strong backend engineering fundamentals and the ability to design, build, and operate production systems.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, early-stage environment with a scrappy, resourceful mindset.
  • Curiosity and motivation to develop expertise in AI and LLMs, especially agent systems.
  • Experience with the listed technologies is a plus, including Golang, Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, Java, C#, Python, VueJS, MySQL, Kafka, AWS, Redis, ElasticSearch, Docker, Terraform, Kubernetes, CircleCI, and DataDog.
