Description

  • Own and deliver quarterly team goals while guiding engineers through ambiguous, open-ended problems.
  • Design, build, and launch backend features and system components across service boundaries using Kotlin and Python.
  • Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics to evaluate technical constraints, risks, and trade-offs.
  • Identify and lead resolution of project, process, technology, and business issues.
  • Monitor system metrics, support availability and on-call operations, and improve operational health.
  • Establish and improve code review, design, and engineering quality standards.
  • Reduce operational toil by creating playbooks and improving team processes.
  • Mentor engineers, support new hires and interns, provide feedback, and contribute to hiring.
  • Investigate complex production issues and make explicit performance, availability, and scalability trade-offs.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale.
  • Proficiency in Python or Kotlin.
  • Experience developing highly available distributed systems using technologies such as AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
  • Ability to define technical plans for significant features or system components with simple, extensible designs.
  • Experience making substantial changes safely in large codebases using effective tools and engineering practices.
  • Strong software engineering skills, including writing clear, maintainable, high-quality code.
  • Demonstrated ownership of professional growth and openness to feedback.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with global engineering teams.
  • Experience with identity, KYC, user lifecycle management, or regulatory systems is relevant to the role.
