Description

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services for financial transactions across 20+ countries.
  • Develop clean, testable production code in Go, Python, or Node.js/TypeScript and participate in design and code reviews.
  • Build and consume RESTful and GraphQL APIs, using gRPC, message queues, and event-driven architectures for service communication.
  • Design and optimize PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis data models for correctness, performance, and scale.
  • Own backend features from scoping and technical design through deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
  • Implement authentication, authorization, input validation, and data-protection practices across distributed services.
  • Integrate LLM APIs into reliable, observable, and cost-efficient product features.
  • Build safe AI-output pipelines with validation, fallbacks, and graceful degradation.
  • Instrument services with logging, tracing, and metrics; participate in on-call response and post-incident reviews.
  • Collaborate asynchronously with engineering, product, compliance, and data teams across global regions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience building and operating production systems.
  • Professional written and spoken fluency in English.
  • Strong proficiency in Go, Python, or Node.js/TypeScript.
  • Experience designing RESTful APIs, microservices, and event-driven backend systems.
  • Strong relational database knowledge, including schema design, query optimization, and data modeling; PostgreSQL is preferred.
  • Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure; Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience integrating third-party APIs reliably, including error handling, retries, and observability.
  • Experience working with globally distributed teams across time zones and regions.
  • Comfort using AI coding assistants and integrating LLM API outputs into backend services.
  • Fintech, payments, regulated-industry, multi-currency, cross-border payments, Kafka/RabbitMQ, startup, or global regulatory-environment experience is preferred.
  • Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese is preferred.
