Description

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and resilient Java-based backend services using Spring Boot.
  • Design and implement new microservices and enhance existing services following microservices best practices.
  • Use message-based communication and SDK clients or APIs to support inter-service interaction.
  • Apply efficient data querying techniques across SQL and non-SQL data systems while preserving transactional data integrity.
  • Design, build, and test execution logic partitioned by Akka actors.
  • Develop distributed system designs to support high volumes of experiment requests in laboratory environments.
  • Select and apply appropriate algorithms and frameworks to solve scheduling and constraint-solving problems.
  • Design, build, and test the orchestration layer execution engine that computes and manages execution plans.
  • Develop execution plans that align with the capabilities and access patterns of Workcell Software Systems.
  • Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions for client needs.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience with Java-based backend services.
  • 5+ years of experience building microservices with Kubernetes- and Docker-based architectures.
  • 5+ years of experience with messaging frameworks, SQL and non-SQL data storage systems, and efficient data query techniques.
  • 3+ years of experience with distributed systems, specifically Akka actors.
  • 3+ years of experience working in CI/CD environments using Jenkins, Argo Workflows, or GitHub Actions.
  • 2+ years of experience with constraint solvers for scheduling problems, such as IBM CPLEX or OR-Tools.
  • 2+ years of experience working with third-party APIs and RESTful concepts.
  • Strong understanding of HTTP/S protocols and standard conventions.
  • Experience with API documentation tools such as Swagger.
  • Ability to work with workcell software execution models and access patterns is preferred.
