Description

  • Provide telephone triage support for hospice patients and their families after hours.
  • Assess patient conditions and determine appropriate next steps for care.
  • Coordinate with on-call teams to arrange care and resources as needed.
  • Document all communications, assessments, and interventions accurately in the EMR.
  • Maintain a calm, professional, and empathetic demeanor during urgent calls.
  • Support timely interventions that help coordinate patient care during non-core hours.

Requirements

  • Active multistate Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Hospice, palliative, or end-of-life care experience is strongly preferred.
  • Comfortable using technology and electronic medical records (EMR) for call documentation.
  • Able to type documentation and notes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to handle stress and multitask while receiving a high volume of calls, including a minimum of 5 calls per hour on weekdays and up to 8 per hour on weekends.
  • Strong communication and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Consistent attendance, active communication, and reliable internet connectivity required during all scheduled shifts.
  • 3 weeks of paid remote training.
  • Ability to work scheduled shifts of 1-2 weekdays from 3:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. CST and every other weekend from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. CST.

Benefits

  • Base pay of $25 per hour with opportunities to increase to up to $28 per hour within the first 6 months.
  • $2 shift differential for overnights.
  • $2 shift differential for weekends (Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday).
  • 3 weeks of paid remote training.
