Description

  • Advise the Chief People Officer and People leadership team on organizational strategy and leadership decisions.
  • Translate executive priorities into actionable plans across the People function.
  • Manage and develop a team of HR business partners supporting critical growth organizations.
  • Build and implement scalable People frameworks, processes, and workflows for key HR cycles.
  • Partner with Advertising, Commercial, and adjacent go-to-market teams on talent strategy, org design, and workforce planning.
  • Coach leaders through complex organizational challenges, including leadership transitions, capability gaps, and workforce changes.
  • Navigate potential M&A-related organizational issues, due diligence, and integration work.
  • Improve the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of HRBP support across the business.
  • Strengthen the performance of the HRBP team through coaching, clarified coverage, and higher partnership standards.

Requirements

  • 8–12+ years of progressive HRBP experience, including direct support of C-suite or senior executives.
  • 12+ years of overall HR or related experience.
  • Experience supporting senior business leaders in complex, fast-paced, high-growth environments.
  • Prior people management experience with a track record of hiring and developing high-performing HR teams.
  • Ability to operate at both strategic and executional levels.
  • Strong organizational design, talent management, and leadership coaching capabilities.
  • Exceptional judgment, discretion, and ability to handle ambiguity and sensitive situations with minimal direction.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to influence executive, People, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • In-depth knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices, with comfort using data to drive decisions.
  • BA/BS degree in a relevant field (preferred).
  • Experience serving as an HRBP to a People or HR function (preferred).
  • Experience supporting revenue-generating or go-to-market organizations such as Advertising, Sales, or Marketing (preferred).
  • Experience building or scaling People programs in high-growth or transformational technology environments (preferred).
  • Exposure to M&A, organizational due diligence, or post-acquisition integration (preferred).
  • Familiarity with international workforce considerations and globally distributed teams (preferred).

Benefits

  • Flexible remote work through Instacart’s Flex First policy.
  • Highly market-competitive compensation and benefits.
  • Base salary range of $237,000-$250,000 USD in CA, NY, CT, and NJ.
  • Base salary range of $227,000-$2,239,500 USD in WA.
  • Base salary range of $217,000-$229,000 USD in OR, DE, ME, MA, MD, NH, RI, VT, DC, PA, VA, CO, TX, IL, and HI.
  • Base salary range of $197,000-$208,000 USD in all other states.
  • Eligible for a new hire equity grant.
  • Eligible for annual refresh grants.
