Description

  • Own end-to-end client invoicing and ensure timely, accurate billing.
  • Manage accounts receivable, including account maintenance, aging reviews, collections, and dispute resolution.
  • Review contracts and coordinate billing setup and revenue recognition treatment in compliance with ASC 606.
  • Prepare revenue recognition schedules, deferred revenue reconciliations, monthly journal entries, and close support.
  • Monitor and report revenue-cycle metrics, including DSO, collections effectiveness, unbilled revenue, deferred revenue, and billing accuracy.
  • Partner with Client Success, Operations, Finance, Legal, and Sales on contract setup, billing, and revenue activities.
  • Support acquired-entity integrations and standardize billing, collections, and revenue-recognition processes.
  • Develop and improve revenue accounting controls, policies, procedures, and NetSuite automation.
  • Prepare audit schedules and respond to auditor requests related to revenue and receivables.
  • Provide technical guidance and work direction to accounting team members and lead revenue-related projects and analyses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a senior or lead accountant capacity.
  • SaaS industry experience is required; private equity-backed company experience is preferred.
  • NetSuite experience is required, along with proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and practical application of ASC 606.
  • Experience applying ASC 606 to complex SaaS and professional services contracts, variable consideration, contract modifications, and multi-element arrangements.
  • Experience managing SaaS billing, revenue recognition, deferred revenue, unbilled revenue, accounts receivable, and collections processes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and deadline-management skills.
  • Ability to influence, mentor, and coordinate others without formal supervisory authority.
  • Audit experience and experience serving governmental clients, including billing and reporting, are preferred.
  • Must be authorized to work without employer sponsorship.
