Description

  • Prepare and submit accurate, timely claims to health plans throughout the billing cycle.
  • Research denied and rejected claims, correct issues, resubmit claims, and identify recurring root causes.
  • Monitor claim status and follow up with health plans and RCM partners to resolve reimbursement issues.
  • Prepare claims and billing reports, support month-end close, and maintain current documentation.
  • Conduct investigations, aged-claim cleanups, payer-specific research, and other ad hoc projects.
  • Partner with finance, product, and engineering to share claims insights and test process or system improvements.
  • Respond to billing communications and questions to support a smooth patient and health-plan experience.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in medical billing, claims submission, or denials management.
  • Working knowledge of the claim lifecycle, including CMS-1500/837 claims, CPT/ICD-10 coding, EOBs/ERAs, and common denial reason codes.
  • Proficiency with Google Suite and Excel, including sorting and filtering; pivot tables and VLOOKUPs are preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work with health plans on payment issues.
  • Detail-oriented and analytical, with the ability to investigate billing issues and identify root causes.
  • Ability to manage changing priorities, work independently, and seek support when needed.
  • Experience with EMR or RCM software such as Candid (preferred).
  • Experience with Medicaid or Medicare billing (preferred).
  • Experience with registered dietitian, nutrition services, or food billing (preferred).
