Description

  • Analyze workers’ compensation claim payments against applicable state fee schedules and PPO contracts.
  • Review payer documentation to verify accurate provider reimbursement.
  • Research and obtain medical records, implant invoices, and other supporting claim documentation.
  • Submit hospital claims and supporting materials to insurance companies for timely reimbursement.
  • Conduct telephone follow-up with payers to confirm receipt of documentation and resolve reimbursement delays.
  • Prepare and submit initial workers’ compensation billing packets and appeal letters.
  • Handle protected health information and confidential company information in accordance with privacy and security requirements.
  • Meet productivity targets while managing multiple priorities independently.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 1–2+ years of healthcare billing or collections experience.
  • 1+ years of client-facing or customer service experience.
  • Experience with workers’ compensation billing and collections preferred.
  • Intermediate understanding of insurance payer/provider claims processing and related data requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, analytical, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and perform effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to meet productivity goals and maintain regular, predictable attendance.
  • Ability to work at a computer and in a stationary position for extended periods; equivalent education and experience considered.
