Description

  • Develop and execute commercial strategies across the full contract lifecycle, from bid construction and pricing through delivery, change management, and claim resolution.
  • Lead the development of commercial bids in collaboration with legal, finance, and procurement teams.
  • Build robust pricing models and compelling proposals that meet German defence customer requirements and revenue targets.
  • Provide expertise on German pricing law and ensure full regulatory compliance across commercial activity.
  • Advise internal stakeholders on risk, exposure, and remediation options related to commercial decisions.
  • Build and present financial business cases for new opportunities based on client needs and market developments.
  • Manage contract reporting and performance governance across programmes and partnerships.
  • Maintain visibility of contractual commitments and surface risks before they affect delivery.
  • Work closely with German Business Development and Customer Success teams to align commercial activity with growth objectives.

Requirements

  • Deep, practical understanding of defence and government contracting from both customer and supply chain perspectives.
  • Track record of delivering complex bids, negotiations, and contract outcomes in a German defence context.
  • Applied knowledge of German pricing law and experience ensuring compliance across commercial programmes.
  • Experience developing and managing software product contract and licensing models.
  • Strong financial modelling skills and ability to turn analysis into decision-ready business cases.
  • Full fluency in both German and English, written and spoken.
  • Comfort operating in standard defence and procurement terminology in both languages.
  • Experience across the full breadth of commercial activity, including strategy, bids, procurement, and contract management.
  • Confidence presenting findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with AI or software-as-a-service commercial models in defence or government procurement environments, preferred.
  • Experience working across multidisciplinary teams spanning legal, finance, and programme management, preferred.
