Description

  • Lead engineering teams responsible for sports betting content and functionality within the Sports Business Unit.
  • Own end-to-end delivery of sports-related capabilities, including trading, feeds, risk management, mathematical models, odds services, and sportsbook content.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, give feedback, and create development plans for team members.
  • Resolve team conflicts and foster a collaborative, supportive environment.
  • Plan projects by defining scope, goals, deliverables, timelines, and resource allocation with stakeholders.
  • Manage team schedules and ensure adequate coverage, including time-off coordination.
  • Enforce quality assurance processes and ensure thorough testing and validation before release.
  • Review and approve technical designs, architecture, and code to maintain consistency and quality.
  • Drive process improvement by identifying workflow inefficiencies and promoting agile and lean best practices.
  • Act as the main point of contact between the team, upper management, and other departments, and report progress and risks to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Experience in the betting or trading domain.
  • Strong experience with C#/.NET for building scalable, high-load backend systems.
  • Experience designing distributed systems and microservices architectures.
  • Solid knowledge of event-driven architecture and messaging systems such as Kafka or similar.
  • Strong expertise in SQL and NoSQL databases, including performance tuning and scaling.
  • Experience with CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Ability to make architectural decisions and own delivery end-to-end.
  • Experience operating high-availability, low-latency systems.
  • Experience with Orleans, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, Elasticsearch, or Aerospike is preferred.
  • Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms is preferred.
  • Familiarity with observability tools such as APM, logging, and tracing is preferred.
  • Understanding of FinOps or cloud cost optimization is preferred.
  • Previous experience mentoring or leading engineers is preferred.
