Description

  • Partner with senior engineering leaders, including VPs, to translate organizational priorities into clear people and business priorities.
  • Drive and support job architecture changes in Engineering, including the introduction of new levels and role expectations.
  • Lead and facilitate Engineering people processes such as calibrations in partnership with PBP and Talent Management teams.
  • Advise and coach engineering leaders on organization design, change management, and leading global teams.
  • Collaborate with other PBPs and Talent partners to align on approach and create a consistent experience for Engineering leaders and teams.
  • Use data and qualitative feedback to identify organizational trends and recommend actions that improve effectiveness, engagement, and performance.
  • Support the planning and execution of Engineering offsites and other leadership forums.
  • Help build cohesion across engineering leadership as the organization navigates growth and transformation.

Requirements

  • Experience as a People Business Partner or in a similar role supporting engineering or technical organizations.
  • Experience working with senior leaders, including Senior Directors and Vice Presidents.
  • Experience supporting globally distributed teams across multiple regions and time zones, including EMEA.
  • Comfort operating in periods of organizational change or transformation, such as job architecture updates or leadership transitions.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to work asynchronously and cross-functionally.
  • Ability to provide clear, data-informed guidance and influence decision-making.
  • Experience in fast-paced tech environments of comparable size and complexity, preferred.
  • Exposure to related domains such as product or IT, with willingness to learn GitLab’s ways of working, preferred.
  • Significant working hours overlap with US Central or East Coast time zones is required.
  • Quarterly travel for Engineering and PBP offsites and collaborative forums is expected.
