Description

  • Design, build, and ship scalable backend systems and complex features through hands-on coding.
  • Provide architectural direction and long-term technical vision across backend systems and contribute to architectural reviews.
  • Shape system architecture and engineering standards via design reviews, code reviews, and technical contributions.
  • Champion an AI-first approach by embedding AI-assisted tools and building AI agents into engineering workflows and product capabilities.
  • Lead resolution of complex design and production issues to ensure high reliability, performance, observability, and security.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable, secure technical solutions.
  • Strengthen and uphold a resilient, high-quality, and secure software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Participate in on-call rotations and drive swift resolution of critical production incidents with minimal customer impact.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience designing and operating large-scale backend or distributed systems with end-to-end ownership from design through production.
  • Deep expertise in Java and the Spring ecosystem (Spring, Spring Boot) with a proven record of building production-grade services.
  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf) and a commitment to advancing AI-driven engineering practices.
  • Ability to architect and operationalize AI-enabled solutions, including building AI agents using GenAI, LLMs, and Model Context Protocol (MCP), with production-ready, secure implementations.
  • Strong experience designing well-structured RESTful APIs and service contracts.
  • Experience with MongoDB, Elasticsearch, and related data technologies.
  • Cloud-native experience on AWS, including Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Proven ability to implement CI/CD, automation, and DevOps best practices (Maven, NPM, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub).
  • Solid understanding of observability, distributed systems reliability, and performance optimization.
  • Familiarity with secure-by-design development practices and compliance considerations (e.g., FedRAMP); familiarity with JavaScript, React, and modern web frameworks is a plus.
