Description

  • Own a defined territory and build a proactive outbound pipeline for net-new and expansion opportunities.
  • Conduct deep discovery and qualification to assess pain, impact, budget, and decision criteria.
  • Deliver tailored value stories and live demos that connect Elastic’s platform capabilities to business outcomes.
  • Build formal close plans with customers and maintain accurate CRM forecasts.
  • Lead contract and pricing negotiations to secure multi-year consumption commitments.
  • Position Elastic through conversations about cloud economics, usage-based pricing, and modern data architectures.
  • Partner closely with Solutions Architects, Customer Success, Marketing, and RevOps to advance deals and improve customer outcomes.
  • Manage complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles within state and local government accounts.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of quota-carrying SaaS sales experience closing complex SLED-focused enterprise deals.
  • Proven success in a consumption-based or usage-model sales environment.
  • Experience applying MEDDPICC or an equivalent qualification framework.
  • Track record of delivering executive-level presentations and product demos.
  • History of negotiating multi-year, high-ACV contracts while protecting margin.
  • Comfort discussing observability, security, vector/traditional search, and cloud cost optimization.
  • Strong collaboration skills and coachability when working with internal teams.
  • Genuine appreciation for open-source communities; OSS selling or advocacy is a plus.
  • Prior experience at an open-source or developer-centric infrastructure company is a bonus.
  • Familiarity with observability use cases or security analytics use cases such as SIEM/XDR is a plus.

  • Starting salary range of $113,300–$179,200 USD.
  • Starting target variable range of $113,200–$179,100 USD.
  • Starting OTE range of $226,500–$358,300 USD with a 50/50 base-to-variable mix.
