Description

  • Lead continuous improvement of learning design practices by staying current with evidence-based education approaches and instructional design trends.
  • Manage the structure, layout, and maintenance of learning pathways to support effective course organisation.
  • Engage with districts, schools, teachers, and students to understand classroom use, teaching impact, and student outcomes.
  • Develop, test, and refine prototype lessons with users to establish effective instructional approaches.
  • Guide the creation of exemplar lessons and assessments, and produce briefs and documentation for writers and designers.
  • Provide initial guidance and training to content writers so they can meet required standards.
  • Partner with internal content editors to give ongoing feedback and improve writer output.
  • Use learner data, feedback, and classroom insights to improve learning and assessment design.
  • Work with the product lead to own the pedagogical quality and classroom applicability of resources.
  • Coordinate topic mapping, lesson sequencing, and learning objectives to ensure logical progression and curriculum alignment.

Requirements

  • Experience as a qualified Science teacher, ideally at secondary level.
  • Experience working in Australia and/or New Zealand education contexts.
  • Strong understanding of curriculum design and assessment practices within the Australian and/or New Zealand education system.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and support writers to deliver high-quality content within project timelines.
  • Comfort using learner data, feedback, and classroom insights to improve learning experiences.
  • Strong prioritisation skills and the ability to switch between multiple tasks and teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain productive, professional relationships with internal teams, external contractors, and users.
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to work cross-functionally.
  • Experience coaching individuals to achieve instructional design excellence.
  • A proactive approach to improving standards, processes, and workflows.
