Description

  • Fly drones daily to perform regression, acceptance, and validation testing.
  • Define and execute comprehensive test plans for new features and releases.
  • Lead acceptance testing for high-risk workflows and edge cases.
  • Coordinate QA test programs, schedules, plans, and checklists with the QA team.
  • Own and improve the bug reporting process, including repro steps, severity, logs, and media requirements.
  • Manage regression suites for Dock, Android, and iOS workflows.
  • Build and maintain test automation to reduce manual testing and improve confidence.
  • Track and analyze quality metrics such as post-release bugs, escalation patterns, QA throughput, and SLO-violating issues.
  • Maintain Qase suites, device and drone inventory, firmware tracking, and internal QA tooling.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of QA or quality engineering experience for hardware or mobile products.
  • Access to 10+ acres for daily drone operations, either at your residence or nearby.
  • FAA Part 107 Certificate required, with the option to obtain it after hiring.
  • Strong hardware QA experience validating end-to-end device behavior.
  • Strong coding or scripting skills in Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, or similar languages.
  • Experience with test case management tools such as Qase and defect tracking in Jira.
  • Experience testing Android and iOS mobile apps with tools such as Appium, Espresso, or Detox.
  • Familiarity with robotics, geospatial, or autonomous systems is preferred.
  • CI/CD pipeline experience with tools such as GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or Jenkins is preferred.
  • Experience with API and integration testing is preferred.
  • Experience with drone flight systems, RTK/PPK workflows, or embedded firmware is preferred.
  • Comfort using AI tools for test setup, maintenance, bug analysis, triage, metrics review, and first-pass code fixes.
