Description

  • Design, develop, and maintain Java backend applications and services.
  • Contribute to the migration of services from Java 8 to Java 17.
  • Support database modernization efforts, including MySQL upgrades.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
  • Conduct code reviews to help ensure code quality, security, and architectural consistency.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, and product stakeholders to deliver backend solutions.
  • Participate in technical design discussions and contribute to solution design.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation.
  • Participate in Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience developing scalable Java backend applications.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Java 8 through Java 17.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented design and design patterns.
  • Strong knowledge of multithreading and concurrency.
  • Strong experience with MySQL or other relational databases.
  • Experience writing unit tests using JUnit and Mockito.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, preferably GCP.
  • Experience with Kubernetes or similar orchestration platforms.
  • Proficiency with Linux and shell scripting.
  • Strong communication skills and experience collaborating with cross-functional Scrum teams.
  • Upper-Intermediate+ English level.
  • Experience with Groovy (desirable).
  • Experience with Gradle (desirable).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (desirable).
  • Experience with Java version migrations or database modernization initiatives (desirable).
