Description

  • Own semi-defined backend workstreams from requirements clarification and estimation through implementation, testing, and release.
  • Develop AEM authoring interfaces, components, Java services, Sling Models, servlets, schedulers, workflows, event handlers, and APIs.
  • Implement maintainable content structures, Universal Editor models, templates, permissions, and author workflows.
  • Integrate AEM with external APIs and enterprise systems using REST, GraphQL, and Adobe App Builder.
  • Write secure, maintainable code using OSGi configuration, dependency injection, error handling, and established engineering patterns.
  • Create unit and integration tests, improve automated coverage, and investigate test failures.
  • Participate in refinement, code review, UAT, release preparation, launches, and hypercare.
  • Diagnose defects and performance issues using logs, metrics, traces, repository inspection, and local reproduction.
  • Collaborate with engineering, QA, DevOps, content, and client stakeholders while maintaining relevant documentation.
  • Support Cloud Manager, CI/CD pipelines, Dispatcher configuration, environment variables, secrets, and deployment diagnostics.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of backend or full-stack software development experience, or equivalent production-system experience.
  • Professional experience with Java and object-oriented software development.
  • Hands-on experience developing AEM backend solutions in production, including Edge Delivery Services, Universal Editor, and Adobe App Builder.
  • Experience delivering end-to-end AEM CMS websites and participating in AEM migration or re-platforming projects.
  • Working knowledge of Sling, OSGi, JCR/Oak, Sling Models, servlets, HTL integration points, workflows, and Maven.
  • Experience with REST APIs, JSON, authentication, input validation, and external service integrations.
  • Experience with AEM Assets/DAM, asset search facets, and creative workflows across Creative Cloud for Enterprise and Adobe Express.
  • Experience with Workfront Fusion and knowledge of the Adobe content supply chain, including Workfront Planning, Frame.io, Marketo, Target, AJO, or AEP.
  • Familiarity with Git, pull requests, automated builds, testing, debugging, performance, security, accessibility, and maintainability.
  • Preferred: experience with AEM Cloud Manager, Dispatcher, headless delivery, Adobe Commerce, API Mesh, GraphQL, event-driven integrations, Docker, CI/CD, observability tools, Adobe certification, or relevant AI development tools and LLM concepts.
