Description

  • Establish and operate a formal pre-launch review process for marketing assets, including ads, landing pages, webinars, email sequences, and affiliate copy.
  • Build and maintain a versioned compliance library for marketing collateral, testimonials, disclosures, approvals, and review history.
  • Develop and enforce a testimonial and income-claims substantiation process in line with FTC Endorsement Guides.
  • Review lifestyle, aspirational, and promotional imagery for implied income-claim risk.
  • Monitor platform ad accounts and marketing channels for FTC-adjacent policy and compliance issues.
  • Review, annotate, and approve sales webinar scripts and one-on-one sales frameworks, and audit transcripts or recordings after webinars.
  • Implement disclosure and escalation protocols for sales and mentorship conversations that could be interpreted as personalized investment advice.
  • Conduct product risk assessments and maintain customer-facing and internal compliance documentation for DM offerings and brand relationships.
  • Review affiliate and partner agreements, vet new partners, monitor affiliate content, and enforce takedown and remediation procedures.
  • Audit TCPA, CAN-SPAM, and data-retention compliance across SMS, email, and customer-data handling processes.
  • Create and maintain compliance policies, onboarding, training, internal digests, and monthly reporting for relevant teams.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with outside counsel and brief leadership on regulatory developments and enforcement trends.

Requirements

  • Background in compliance, legal, or risk management within FTC-regulated marketing, financial publishing, fintech, or direct-response marketing.
  • Familiarity with crypto, DeFi, or broader fintech regulatory issues, including SEC, CFTC, and state-level securities laws as a plus.
  • Hands-on knowledge of FTC Endorsement Guides (2023 update), TCPA, CAN-SPAM, and the Publisher’s Exemption under the Investment Advisers Act of 1940.
  • Direct experience with affiliate compliance, including monitoring claims, drafting agreements, and managing takedowns.
  • Experience reviewing marketing copy, VSLs, email sequences, and webinar scripts in a high-volume, fast-moving environment.
  • Strong understanding of income-claim, lifestyle-claim, and typicality analysis.
  • Working knowledge of digital marketing funnels, copywriting psychology, and affiliate channels.
  • Ability to translate legal risk into business-friendly decisions and provide practical alternatives.
  • Comfort working independently without a formal legal team, with the ability to build systems from scratch.
  • Strong written communication skills for memos, policies, and actionable feedback.
  • Commercial mindset that treats compliance as a business enabler rather than a blocker.
  • High sense of urgency and ability to turn around reviews quickly.
  • Low ego, high standards, and the confidence to push back constructively when needed.
  • Pattern-recognition instinct for identifying content or initiatives that may attract regulatory scrutiny.
