Description

  • Provide technical leadership to help strategic customers successfully implement big data and large-scale data warehousing projects.
  • Architect production data workloads and optimize end-to-end pipeline performance.
  • Prove the value of the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform for customer use cases.
  • Develop expertise in areas such as data lake technology, big data streaming, or data ingestion and workflows.
  • Support Solutions Architects with advanced technical sale activities, including proof-of-concept content, workload sizing, and custom architectures.
  • Deliver tutorials, trainings, hackathons, and conference presentations to drive community adoption.
  • Contribute to the Databricks Community.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and customers on cloud data engineering transformations and technical roadmaps.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in a technical role with deep expertise in data engineering and related domains.
  • Hands-on experience with data ingestion, streaming technologies such as Spark Streaming and Kafka, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and debugging Spark or other big data solutions.
  • Experience building data-driven applications such as risk modeling, fraud detection, or customer lifetime value (LTV) use cases.
  • Advanced experience with data warehousing, including query tuning, governance, troubleshooting, and migrating workloads from traditional SQL, Redshift, Snowflake, Synapse, or EMR.
  • Experience with data observability tools such as Splunk, Elastic, or Sentinel, plus telemetry, high-velocity log ingestion, and anomaly detection.
  • Proven ability to maintain, scale, and extend production data systems for complex business needs.
  • Experience designing and scaling cost-efficient, high-performance cloud data workloads and building batch, CDC, and streaming pipelines.
  • Experience migrating on-premises or Hadoop-based systems to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP and working with Delta Lake, data modeling, governance, and BI integration.
  • Production programming experience in SQL and at least one of Python, Scala, or Java.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Prior customer-facing experience in a pre-sales or post-sales technical role is preferred.
  • Ability to meet technical training and role-specific milestones within 6 months of hire.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% as needed.
  • Strong familiarity with cloud infrastructure providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is highly desirable.
