Description

  • Own and complete the full month-end close cycle within the 5-day target window and work to continuously compress it.
  • Prepare and post recurring journal entries for amortizations, prepaids, accruals, payroll, and other close items.
  • Own balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany entries, reclasses, and cash/bank entries across multiple accounts and systems.
  • Coordinate cross-functional close inputs such as inventory, delayed revenue, loyalty true-ups, and intercompany files.
  • Maintain close documentation, checklists, journal-entry support, and audit-ready SOX-style controls.
  • Own accounts payable operations end-to-end, including bill processing, payment proposals, aging management, and vendor reconciliations.
  • Serve as the financial point of contact for vendors by handling reporting requests, statement reconciliations, and short-pay or credit disputes.
  • Provide financial documentation to support vendor credit-line and partnership discussions with merchandising and leadership.
  • Use AI tools, Python, and automation platforms to reduce manual accounting work and streamline JE preparation, reconciliations, AP workflows, and reporting.
  • Build and maintain reliable integrations, queries, alerts, and exception checks across NetSuite, bank portals, and other financial systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of accounting or finance experience with direct ownership of a full month-end close.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge of accruals, prepaids, reclasses, intercompany, and balance sheet reconciliations under GAAP.
  • Hands-on accounts payable experience, including direct vendor communication and dispute resolution.
  • Daily working familiarity with AI/LLM tools and a track record of using them to eliminate manual finance work.
  • Strong SQL skills for data extraction and transformation, plus advanced Excel proficiency.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles.
  • Hands-on experience with payroll journal entries and payroll platforms such as Paylocity.
  • Experience in multi-entity or multi-brand accounting environments.
  • Ability to explain an automation you personally built and shipped, including what it does and the time saved.
  • Highly organized, deadline-driven, and comfortable owning a process under a hard monthly close timeline.
  • CPA or MBA preferred.
  • Python proficiency for data work and automation preferred.
  • Experience with workflow automation and agent platforms such as n8n preferred.
  • Experience building micro-apps or utilities such as with Claude Code preferred.
  • Deep experience with NetSuite, including SuiteAnalytics or ODBC, preferred.
  • Familiarity with AP and payment platforms such as Stripe and Ramp preferred.
  • E-commerce or retail industry experience preferred.
  • Must be available during US Central business hours.
