Description

  • Perform real-time surveillance of exchange activity, security feeds, and product safety data to detect potential market abuse and manipulation.
  • Manage investigations into suspected market manipulation, including evidence review, report auditing, and caseload oversight.
  • Monitor trade activity to protect cash settlement processes, margin compliance, and clearing stability.
  • Serve as the primary administrator and lead analyst for Eventus Validus and use Scilla to monitor technical compliance workflows and transaction logs.
  • Tune surveillance parameters and detection logic to reduce false positives while maintaining strong detection of suspicious activity.
  • Monitor real-time market data for participant compliance with margin requirements and position limits.
  • Assist in preparing weekly, monthly, and quarterly regulatory reports for the CFTC and NFA.
  • Support regulatory examinations as a technical subject matter expert on monitoring tools and data integrity.
  • Draft and maintain policies, procedures, audit trails, and trade data records.
  • Hire, train, and mentor analysts, investigators, and surveillance technicians.

Requirements

  • 3–7 years of experience within a CFTC-regulated entity such as a DCM, DCO, SEF, or FCM.
  • Direct, hands-on experience using Eventus Validus for trade surveillance is mandatory.
  • Familiarity with Scilla for smart contract or technical monitoring.
  • Deep understanding of the asset classes traded, such as digital assets or event/prediction markets.
  • Strong comfort working in data-heavy, highly technical environments.
  • Deep familiarity with the Commodity Exchange Act (CEA) and core CFTC compliance principles.
  • AI expertise is required.
  • Series 3 certification is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with SQL or basic data visualization is a major plus.
  • Experience operating in a digitally native, automation-first workflow environment is preferred.
