Description

  • Manage a defined portfolio of retail distribution partners across a specific region.
  • Execute strategies to increase premium production and deepen engagement with Tier 1 and Tier 2 partners.
  • Identify, prospect, and develop new high-potential distribution relationships within the territory.
  • Collaborate with underwriting, marketing, and development teams to drive distribution and partner premium generation.
  • Represent Cover Whale in partner meetings, seminars, trade shows, and networking events.
  • Track, report, and act on KPIs to meet or exceed revenue and growth goals.
  • Improve business development, partner management, and onboarding processes.
  • Conduct market trend research and competitor analysis to better understand customer needs.
  • Develop strategic growth plans and implement prospective account plans in target markets.
  • Maintain regular outreach to strengthen brand perception among current and prospective trading partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • 4 to 6 years of business development or account management experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial insurance.
  • At least 1 year of experience working for a carrier, wholesaler, or MGA preferred.
  • Proven ability to generate significant revenue through distribution partners.
  • Experience managing retail and wholesale commercial lines brokers/agents, MGAs, MGUs, and other strategic partners.
  • Comfort and effectiveness with cold calling agency partners.
  • Experience prospecting and negotiating with distribution partners.
  • Strong understanding of insurance business financials.
  • Ability to negotiate and navigate complex business situations.
  • Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in changing priorities and conditions.
  • Physical residence in the Northeast region.
  • Approximately 50% in-field travel by plane.
